The Forest Trail and the Riverbank Fire
Kumaon Lake, Ramganga Sal & Har Ki Pauri
A classic short-format journey through Kumaon and the Shivalik foothills, combining wooden boat rowing on Naini Lake with open 4x4 tiger tracking in Corbett and the evening Ganga Aarti at Haridwar.

The Story
What happens when you arrive
Ascending into the wooded Kumaon Hills to Nainital, traditional wooden rowing boats glide across mountain-framed Naini Lake beneath Greater Himalayan viewpoints.
Descending into Jim Corbett National Park, open 4x4 safaris navigate sal forests and grasslands along the Ramganga River to track elephants and tigers, concluding with the evening Ganga Aarti at Haridwar.
Cultural Context
Kumaon Waterways and Forest Conservation
Kumaon's lakes and the Shivalik foothills balance colonial hill retreat heritage with India's oldest tiger reserve. Jim Corbett's protected sal forests trace early wildlife conservation, culminating in the sacred river ceremonies of Haridwar.
