DAY 01

Arrival in Delhi and Capital Orientation

You arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport or New Delhi Railway Station, where your tour manager greets you. You transfer to your hotel and complete check-in formalities. In the afternoon, you take an orientation drive through the wide boulevards of New Delhi, viewing the ceremonial avenue of Rajpath, India Gate, and the facade of Rashtrapati Bhavan. You gather for an evening welcome briefing and dine at your hotel.

DAY 02

Imperial Delhi: Qutub Minar to the Red Fort

Following breakfast, you spend the day exploring Delhi's historic monuments. You visit Qutub Minar, the 73-metre brick minaret built in 1192, and explore its surrounding complex of ancient Afghan and Hindu stone ruins. You visit the garden tomb of Mughal Emperor Humayun, a World Heritage site that served as the architectural precursor to the Taj Mahal. In the afternoon, you view the massive red sandstone walls of the Red Fort in Old Delhi and visit the Bahá'í Lotus Temple. You return to your hotel for dinner.

DAY 03

Delhi to Agra and the Taj Mahal

After breakfast, you check out and drive south along the Yamuna Expressway to Agra. You check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, you visit the Taj Mahal, standing before the white marble mausoleum on the banks of the Yamuna River to examine its carved calligraphy and semi-precious stone inlay. Later, you explore the massive red sandstone ramparts, marble audience halls, and courtyards of Agra Fort. You dine at your hotel in Agra.

DAY 04

Fatehpur Sikri and Expressway Transit to Lucknow

Following breakfast, you drive to the deserted Mughal capital of Fatehpur Sikri, built by Emperor Akbar in 1571. You walk through the grand Buland Darwaza, the white marble tomb of Sufi saint Sheikh Salim Chishti, and the red sandstone courtyards of the imperial palace. Afterward, you board your vehicle and travel eastward along the Agra–Lucknow Expressway across the plains of Awadh to Lucknow. You check in to your hotel and dine in the evening.

DAY 05

Lucknow Awadhi Architecture and Chowk Bazaars

After breakfast, you explore the architectural and culinary heritage of the Nawabs of Awadh. You visit Bara Imambara, walking through its massive unsupported arched central hall and exploring the narrow passages of the upper Bhulbhulaiya labyrinth. You pass beneath the monumental sixty-foot Rumi Darwaza and visit Chota Imambara with its chandeliers and calligraphy. In the evening, you explore the historic Chowk bazaar, experiencing authentic Awadhi street food and viewing traditional Chikan embroidery shops. You dine at your hotel.

DAY 06

Lucknow to Varanasi (The Holy City)

Following breakfast, you check out and drive southeast along the highway toward the sacred city of Varanasi. Upon arrival, you check in to your hotel and relax. In the late afternoon, you take an orientation stroll near the river ghats, experiencing the lively atmosphere of evening temple bells, chanting, and floral offerings. You dine at your hotel in Varanasi.

DAY 07

Sarnath Buddhist Sanctuary and Evening Ganga Aarti

After breakfast, you take an excursion north to Sarnath, the peaceful deer park where Gautama Buddha preached his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. You view the ancient Dhamek Stupa and visit the Sarnath Archaeological Museum, which houses the third-century BCE polished sandstone Lion Capital of Ashoka (India's national emblem). In the evening, you proceed to Dashashwamedh Ghat to witness the grand Ganga Aarti ceremony, watching priests perform synchronized rituals with brass fire lamps to the sound of cymbals and bells. You return to your hotel for dinner.

DAY 08

Kashi Vishwanath, Sacred Temples and Old City Gallis

Following breakfast, you explore the spiritual center of Varanasi. You visit the sacred Kashi Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, walking through the newly developed corridor connecting the shrine to the river. You explore the narrow ancient alleys (*gallis*) of Benaras, stopping at renowned heritage eateries like Kashi Chat Bhandar for tamatar chaat and Blue Lassi for traditional churned yogurt drinks. In the afternoon, you visit the New Vishwanath Temple on the Banaras Hindu University campus, the historic Durga Temple, and Tulsi Manas Temple. You dine at your hotel.

DAY 09

Dawn River Ganges Boat Cruise and Heritage Ghats

You wake before sunrise for a morning wooden boat cruise along the River Ganges. The ghats of Varanasi are sacred spaces of active worship and pilgrimage. At Manikarnika and Harishchandra ghats (cremation grounds), strictly observe complete silence and a total prohibition on photography. Do not photograph grieving families or pyres.

Remove shoes and all leather goods before entering temple complexes (Kashi Vishwanath, Durga Temple). Dress modestly (covering shoulders and knees) at all religious and historical sites.

Do not touch marble inlay work at the Taj Mahal, carve names on sandstone walls at Fatehpur Sikri or Agra Fort, or discard litter in monument gardens.
